Team England Adaptive Cheer (ParaCheer)

Momentum Cheer is once again honoured to be the home of Team England Adaptive Abilities Cheer Median 22-23! This season, Momentum will specifically field a team to represent England at the ICU World Championships 2023. Tryouts will be open to both existing Momentum athletes and to athletes currently outside of the program.

We are so thankful to SportCheer England for entrusting us with this opportunity again, and are so proud of our whole program - the athletes, the families, and the coaches who have embraced Momentum's ongoing journey to becoming an inclusive and adaptive program.

We can't wait to get back out there and represent you on the Worlds stage in 2023!

What is Adaptive Abilities?

Adaptive Abilities (formerly ParaCheer) is an inclusive cheerleading division for athletes with and without sensory and/or physical disabilities. Athletes work together to create adaptations, enabling all team members to perform skills and routines in new and innovative ways. Momentum has been training and competing in the Adaptive divisions since 2017!

Adaptive Abilities is a separate division to existing SEN cheerleading divisions, and while athletes with learning disabilities are not excluded from AA divisions, all athletes must be able to learn and memorise a full, complex cheerleading routine.

Accessibility of The Old Church

As the name suggests, we train in an old church building. Due to its age and status as a listed building, the gym currently has some accessibility issues and anyone with a disability that affects their mobility may require help entering the building. Any athletes who may require assistance with stairs, please call ahead to chat to us so that we can try to find a way to fully meet your needs.
